Starting from the Spot-Fixing scandal that happened during the year 2013. Now it’s about the complete team ban that was made on Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings. The teams who were playing in the previous seasons of IPL.
Ban for Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings for spot-fixing
The teams were suspended in playing with the upcoming seasons of IPL, yet, it has been rumoured that they might come back in the next season of IPL. It was about the same spot-fixing scandal that was found to be replicated with two teams, namely CSK (Chennai Super Kings) and RR (Rajasthan Royals).
The Chennai Super Kings is a well-known team as it had Dhoni, the Indian skipper crowning the team as the captain and the whole team looked like a small Indian team playing in the IPL. It was really a great disappointment for many cricket lovers after they came to know about the spot-fixing scandal happened with their favourite team too.
After receiving various reports regarding spot-fixing. The Lodha Panel has completely suspended both the Rajasthan Royals and the Chennai Super Kings to play. They were suspended in the IPL for two continuous years, starting from 2015.
The team owners of CSK, as well as RR, were found to be in a spot-fixing scandal with bookies. Although the players were not found to involved in the spot-fixing scandal. The Lodha Panel suspended the whole team. So, that no more scandals like these shall happen in the near future.
